Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?

Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.

The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding. Similarly the noblest act is that of sharing that which is understood.

However all our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions. Anyone who conducts an argument by appealing to authority is not using his intelligence; he is just using his memory.
